He decision in a cooperative is made by the management committee. The control and authority, therefore, passes too many people and thus leads to delayed decisions. The decisions are mostly person oriented instead of being service oriented and thus adversely affect the organization.
- Defective services.
The cooperative firm gets defective and delayed services of outside agencies.
For example fertilizers, seeds, machinery, credited are not timely available to the society societies. Which creates dissatisfaction among the members?
- Lack of true leadership:
An interested group normally dominates a cooperatives society. A member once elected to an office of the management holds the office till his death of dissolution of the cooperative society. The business of the firm remains with one management and that affects its business.

The man is selfish by nature. The employee is mostly low paid in the cooperative. They take less interest in the development of the society. Lack of motivation is, thus an obstacle to the development of cooperative societies.
